Music Program 2012

Welcome to the music program of the United Methodist Church of Mount Kisco! Whether you are a new or old member of our vibrant congregation, we want to encourage you to lend your musical talents to our church services.

We are committed to creative worship that combines a relevant message of hope and encouragement for today with music that spans many styles and ages—from favorite old hymns to choruses from around the world; from classical composers on organ to gospel anthems on jazz piano. We are eclectic, open and embracing—so please come and share your love of music with us.

CHOIR
Our choir sings an introit and anthem every Sunday morning during the 10:15am service. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm. We also have a warm-up rehearsal on Sunday mornings from 9:20 to 10:00am. A complete choir schedule and copies of the music will be available on the church website. Please feel free to join us any Sunday that you are free or particularly attracted to the selections, and study the music in advance if you wish. We think you will find the music attractive, varied and easy to learn and sing. We do ask that any person singing in the choir attend at least one of the preceding rehearsals.

YOUTH CHOIR

Currently under development.

CHAMBER ENSEMBLE Instrumentalists are invited to play chamber music during our services and on special occasions. Instrumentalists are asked to attend at least one rehearsal before the day of performance. Instruments should be tuned and prepared before rehearsal begins.

SOLOISTS If you have a special solo that you would like to share with the congregation, please meet with Music Director Darron McNutt to discuss a suitable date and any accompaniment or rehearsal needs you may have. We are always eager to enjoy the talents of our members!

HYMN SING Once per month we have an open hymn-sing before our Sunday morning service. Members of the congregation may select from our two hymnals. Come prepared with your old favorites!

Please feel free to contact our office at any time with your questions, suggestions or comments. We welcome your participation!
